March: It's All about ME (that means YOU too). . .Hair Makeovers, Me Time, Self-Improvement, InStyle Magazine, etc.

Hello gorgeous girls (and any gentlemen who happen to be perusing)!

This month is March (if you didn't realize that, get out of your PJs, shower, brush your teeth, and get out of the house), and guess what—it's my 33rd birthday on March 13!
So. . .I'm going to be selfish (OK, I don't really feel like it's selfish, quite the opposite in fact) and giving myself some "me" time.

What does "me" time mean to you? How do recharge and rejuvenate? It could be spicing up your hair with some fresh color, getting rid of clothes in your closet you'll never wear again, reading an inspiring book, taking inventory of your goals, etc. I believe our health, vitality, and well-being depends on "me" time, or what Stephen R. Cover refers to as "Sharpening the Saw." It's like an oxygen mask on an airplane: we can't properly help others unless we first take care of ourselves.

To get the ball rolling, let's talk MAKEOVERS! When I think "makeover," my mind immediately goes to InStyle magazine.

I remember the first time I noticed InStyle Magazine. I was 15, and it was the May 1996 cover featuring Teri Hatcher, from my favorite TV show ever: Lois and Clark: The Adventures of Superman.

Just talking about that show could encompass an entire post. Maybe two. One discussing the show, and the other about my childhood obsession with Dean Cain. I would say he was my first crush, but that was actually Tom Cruise.

The "Transformations" page has always been my favorite section by far. At a young age, seeing the hair evolution of female celebrities helped me quickly learn the difference between attractive and absolute disaster. However, I have definitely had my hair and beauty blunders over the years, which will not be mentioned at this time.

Instead, let me showcase some of my favorites:

Ok, the first one is a joke. Not that Spock is a joking
matter, (because he's NOT!) but I don't fancy sporting this look on the daily.

Which one of these looks do you prefer? Do you have suggestions for what I should do next? The last picture represents my most current look, although the color has faded a bit. So, stay brunette? Pump it up with some highlights? Although the length can't currently change, unless there's a new magic hair growth pill on the market, I'm also curious whether you prefer shorter or longer. Be honest, and give me your opinion!

xoxo

    1. Thank you! That picture is the closest to my natural curl and color (just amped up with some highlights)...go figure, haha! AH Lois and Clark. I honestly can't imagine what my childhood would have been like without them (because they WERE real people haha). Thank you for stopping by my blog!

  5. My New Year's resolution is making 2014 more about me so I am totally feeling you for the month of March! Plus it gives you a great reason to spend $$ on yourself (as if we needed a reason, right?) As for your look! Girl, you can pull off anything! Holy cow! I am tres jealous! For the summer months, I am definitely leaning towards a very flirty, short, lighter look! But again, any look on you would be smashing! Let us know what you choose!

  6. I love your blonde! I keep going between brunette and blonde every few years, but I love the blonde on you!

Me time doesn't happen a lot around here! Becoming a mom kind of kicks that out the door! I do take time every so often to do a facial and my nails though. Sometimes just shaving your legs without someone banging on the door because they need to pee is "me time" enough!

  7. I like the first one on the bottom row.. The newest one is nice too but the long sweeping bang seems troublesome to me. - probably because I have no patience and I constantly tie up the front of my hair into a pony tail which makes my husband laugh and call me Magnolia. (Tom Cruise) I like your hair short. It's very stylish and flirty..
